MLA Kedar Naik has strongly refuted allegations linking him to the Goan fishing trawlers seized in Maharashtra, stating that the vessels do not belong to him. Responding to claims made during a recent press conference, Naik clarified that the trawlers in question are part of his family’s long-standing fishing business and have been operating since his father’s time, but none are registered in his name.
“The boats are not mine. My name has been dragged into this unnecessarily,” Naik said, emphasizing that the accusations made against him were “completely incorrect.” He added that even the individuals who held the press conference have family members and brothers who own boats, but that does not automatically associate them with the seized vessels either.

Reiterating his position, Naik demanded an apology from those who publicly named him. “I want to make it absolutely clear once again this boat does not belong to me. Those who have taken my name must apologise,” he said.
