MARGAO: Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardessai has has asked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP to clarify why they have taken a U-turn on special status for Goa. Vijai recalled that in 2014 Modi had promised that once he comes to power he would grant special status for Goa.
Vijai has also asked Modi to clarify whether the Dabolim airport would continue or would be closed after Mopa is built.
Vijai sought to know from Modi, “Why vast land was acquired and changed to commercial zone near the Mopa airport?”
If Mopa airport is commissioned, Vijai feared that a Telugu speaking township would crop up near Mopa airport.
Vijai has vowed to take on Modi if he fails to answer his questions. He said that he would take on Modi at the Goa Forward campaign launch function on November 14.
Vijai also alleged that demonetisation has not been done impartially.
