MARGAO: Margao city fathers on Friday urged the Goa police to intensify patrolling in the wards and crack the whip against anti-social elements on the prowl in the city.
At an interaction with the in-charge of Margao Police station PI Sudesh Naik on Friday evening, the Councillors led by Municipal Chairperson Gonzaco Rebello called for better and close co-ordination between the city fathers and the men-in-uniform.
Councillor Pratima Coutinho suggested to the police to crack the whip against certain anti social elements believed to be selling drugs in certain pockets of the city. Similarly, Councillor Sadanand Naik suggested to the police to hold meetings in the Housing Board area of the city to verify complaints received from the
local residents.
