Mormugao Municipal Council Chairperson Girish Borker, along with Deputy Collector Pratap Rao Goankar and other authorities, conducted a surprise inspection at Kharewado and warned illegal fish wholesalers of strict action.
Speaking during the visit, Borker said the illegal sale of fish at the location would not be permitted following the notification of the new fish market in Vasco da Gama. He urged wholesalers to shift their operations to the old Baina Fish Market.

Deputy Collector Goankar stated that directions would be issued to the RTO and other concerned authorities to immediately remove encroachments and illegally parked vehicles from the area.
He further said the road would be fully cleared to ensure that no fish-selling activities are carried out at the location illegally.
