MARGAO: The Chief Officer of Margao municipality Siddhivinayak Naik recovered Rs 42 lakh from two stores in Margao. Around 7 lakhs were recovered from a gift-shop franchise store in Panjifond and around 34.5 lakhs were recovered from a major clothing store inside a theatre building next to Osia Complex in Madel.
The chief officer informed that he had issued notices to the stores. “They had pending dues in the form of house tax and trade licence fees. They have paid the entire amount,” said the CO.
The CO had issued final notices to both the stores stating that if they fail to pay the pending dues, the shops would be sealed.
