PANJIM: The student wings of the Nationalist Congress Party and the Goa Youth Congress have announced that they are boycotting the nomination proceedings of the Goa University Students Council elections alleging partiality and rigging of the elections.
President of the NCP Youth wing Ritesh Rawal, said that some of their candidates were disqualified without giving a reason and some on grounds that they reached late, when they actually made it on time.
“The Vice Chancellor should stay the current nomination process as there has been politics played in disqualification of many of the UFR candidates. In some cases the colleges claim to have sent the required data to the University, which the University has denied,” Rawal said.
A delegation led by Valanka Alemao, president, Youth Congress Ritesh Rawal, president, Nationalist Students Congress met the Vice Chancellor and the Registrar of the Goa University and submitted their complainants.
“Our protests will continue till proper justice is given to the agitating students,” Rawal said.
