PANJIM: Considering National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test (NEET) a must to gain admission to homeopathy and ayurvedic degree courses, the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and AYUSH ministry has rejected the Goa government plea to consider the Goa Common Entrance Test (GCET) this year.
Minister of State (Independent Charge) for AYUSH, Shripad Naik, on Friday said, “To avoid weaknesses present in the system it has been decided to carry out admission process based only on NEET. For all States the rules are the same.” Goa had requested MHRD and AYUSH ministry to consider GCET for the current academic year and NEET from the next academic year 2018-19.
