An elderly woman from New Vaddem died, after she was knocked down by a jeep along the NH-17B near Coast Guard Colony, Mangor-Hill, Vasco, on Monday evening.
According to Vasco Police, one Sitabai Ramkrishna Padwalkar was knocked down by Balero jeep (GA-05-T-1012) while she was crossing the road.
According to passengers in the jeep and driver Nilesh Shirodkar, the deceased got confused while crossing the road and suddenly came in the way of the jeep. Padwalkar was rushed to Chicalim Cottage Hospital, where she succumbed to injuries, informed Vasco Police. Vasco Police arrested the jeep driver.
