Nilesh Cabral, along with government engineers, carried out an inspection of the ongoing road widening works on the Curchorem–Quepem and Curchorem–Sanguem routes, which have been in progress for the past several months.
During the inspection, Cabral assured that the public will soon benefit from wider roads equipped with proper dividers, aimed at improving traffic flow and road safety. He stated that the various issues currently being faced by residents due to the ongoing works will be resolved within the next few months.
Addressing concerns related to tree cutting, Cabral said that around 700 trees were first planted as part of a compensatory plantation drive, following which tree felling was carried out to facilitate the road widening.
He added that the projects are being closely monitored to ensure timely completion and minimal inconvenience to commuters and local residents.
