NSUI to protest against Modi govt functioning

MARGAO: To protest against the functioning of the BJP government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the National Students Union of India (NSUI) Goa officer bearers will demonstrate near BJP’s South Goa MP Narendra Sawaikar’s office in Ponda on Wednesday morning.

“The MP must apologize for fooling the people of Goa with fake promises to lure votes. We will protest till the MP resigns on moral grounds and we will raise three key issues during this demonstration,” NSUI Goa president Ahraz Mulla said.
The pre-poll promises by BJP include bringing back black money within 100 days and putting Rs 15 lakh in every citizen’s account. “Fake cheques of Rs 15 lakh will be distributed as a symbolic representation of how the Modi government has fooled the people of Goa,” Mulla said.
Mulla added that if the government is not able to distribute Rs 15 lakh then they must make public transport free for students or give special packages for transport and other facilities that is a big requirement for the student community. He added that they are demanding that the government rollback fuel prices within a month or else the entire student community will come out on the streets.
