MARGO: The Nuvem gram sabha on Sunday decided to levy garbage tax on occupants of flats and on the commercial establishments in the village and the same would be finalized at the next gram sabha by which time people will have to give their suggestions or objections.
Today it was decided to levy a monthly tax of Rs 300 for the occupants of flats specially those residing on rental basis. Besides, it was decided to tax commercial establishments at the rate of Rs 600 per month.
Villagers are asked to discuss this proposal and give their suggestions or objections to the panchayat and the garbage tax structure will be finalised at the next gram sabha which is scheduled to be held in the month of November.
