Officials Inspect Margao Old Market Bus Stand for Proposed Beautification and Street Food Hub Project

Margao, Goa: Officials from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, the Margao Municipal Council (MMC), and the Goa State Urban Development Agency (GSUDA) conducted a joint inspection of the Old Market Bus Stand area in Margao on Friday to assess plans for its proposed beautification and redevelopment as a dedicated street food hub.

During the site visit, the officials reviewed the existing infrastructure and discussed various aspects of the proposed project aimed at enhancing the area’s aesthetic appeal while creating an organised space for street food vendors and visitors.

Authorities assured that all stakeholders, including vendors, local residents, and other affected parties, would be consulted before the commencement of the project. They emphasized that their views and concerns would be taken into consideration during the planning process.

Officials further stated that the beautification and redevelopment work is expected to begin once the necessary consultations, planning, and preparatory formalities are completed.

The proposed initiative is expected to improve the Old Market Bus Stand area by creating a more attractive and organised public space while promoting local street food culture and enhancing the overall visitor experience in Margao.
