The South Goa Sessions Court on Friday held guilty a native of Jharkhand for the murder of one Pal alilas Paul at Cansaulim in the year 2007.
Additional sessions Judge P V Sawaikar held guilty accused Sudir Khanulano (26) under section 302 of the IPC for the murder of deceased Pal.
The body of Pal alias Paul, who also hails from Jharkhand, was found lying on the railway tracks on December 25, 2007 at the Cansaulim railway station. Investigations by the police later revealed that the deceased was murdered after the accused slit his throat and caused a wound on his abdomen.
The prosecution examined around 15 witnesses in support of its case.
The accused will now be heard on the point of sentence on Saturday.
