MARGAO: Loutulim gram sabha held on Sunday and chaired by Sarpanch Conceicao Fernandes witnessed commotion after residents from Angaddi Bhat-Carvota questioned the sarpanch for failing to take action against illegal construction which is obstructing the resident from using the public well.
A resolution was adopted that the land preserved as open space around the well by the landlord be fenced with residents promising to get NOC from the landlord. A resolution was also adopted demanding a full-time secretary for the panchayat who should not be given additional charge as villagers are put to inconvenience. Minutes of previous gram sabha held in July were confirmed after the same were read by the secretary.
A villager informed the sarpanch that cattle traps installed along the roadside by the side of the church have turned in death trap for pedestrians. Villagers also expressed resentment over government failure to issue monthly electricity bill demanding that the same be informed to concern authority.
