MARGAO: The village panchayat of Orlim adopted a resolution demanding that the authorities carry out demarcation of all internal acquired roads and also to clear all encroachments on these roads. Gram sabha member Donato Costa raised the issue as the authorities had failed to act even when the issue had been raised at the last gram sabha. Sarpanch Gaudencio Luis who chaired the gram sabha was informed that delay in demarcation was giving free hand for encroachments on acquired land.
Gram sabha also took a resolution that plans approved by TCP should be verified by the panchayat body by inspecting the site and any discrepancies found TCP be informed and joint inspection be carried before issue of licence.
Gram sabha member Patrick Cardozo said that a resolution taken at last gram sabha on correction various discrepancies reflected in the RP 20-21 has not yet been rectified.
Aggrieved by the action of authorities the gram sabha resolved demanding that the panchayat ask TCP reason as to why some of discrepancies pointed had been not rectified and to approach the higher authorities if no reply is received on the matter within a month’s time.
