VALPOI: In a daylight robbery, an unknown culprit snatched away the mangalsutra and bangles of an elderly woman at Honda, Satari, on Monday.
According to Valpoi police, the robber entered the house of one Gopalkrishna Joshi near Vadadev temple at Honda and snatched away the ornaments from his wife Shital Joshi. Though the couple tried to thwart the robbery, being elderly, they were overpowered by the culprit. The couple was injured in the scuffle and were taken to Sanqulim hospital for treatment. The value of stolen ornaments is estimated at Rs 70,000.
After conducting panchanama, Valpoi police are investigating the case.
