MARGAO: Town and Country Planning (TCP) Minister Vijai Sardesai on Tuesday assured people from Paroda who called on him along with Yuri Alemao and Joaquim Alemao that no illegality will be permitted and warned that the guilty involved in illegal filling of low lying land would be punished.
Paroda villagers pointed out that no action was taken on their complaint filed on February 5, last year against the illegal land filling undertaken in the revenue village of Mullem coming under their panchayat.
They said the low lying area was filled up to create plots, which have also been sold to some people and alleged that the illegality has the blessing of the MLA Clafasio Dias because of which even the panchayat is not taking any action against it.
Vijai assured the villagers that the complaint will be looked into and if illegality is found then action will be taken against the guilty.
