PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar is deliberately and consciously blocking the registering of an FIR in the case of the Dabolim airport de-notification case, Curtorim MLA and Congress Party spokesman alleged.
Charging the chief minister with doublespeak as well as blatant shamelessness, CLP spokesman Alexio Reginaldo Lourenco pointed out how in the assembly Parrikar accuses Congress MLAs of being behind the de-notification, but when it comes to him acting against those very same legislators, he is reluctant.
“The case in point is a complaint filed by one Advino de Souza. He sought the registering of an FIR way back in November 2011. It was not registered neither by the local police station nor the Superintendent of Police of that area. Finally he approached the court. When the matter came for hearing, Parrikar ensured that there is a special assistant public prosecutor appointed to oppose the filing of an FIR,” he said.
“This same Parrikar in the assembly said that all FIRs will be registered. It is the Congressmen who are behind it and statements like this,” Reginaldo  said, adding that his government’s decision to oppose the filing of an FIR, clearly betrayed his true intentions.
