PANJIM: Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar was discharged from Goa Medical College and Hospital (GMC) on Thursday. He had been admitted in the hospital on February 25 for dehydration.
Parrikar, who was accompanied by his elder son Utpal, was driven home immediately after being discharged.
Soon after the discharge, Parrikar took to the social media to thank the people for their wishes and prayers for his speedy recovery. “Happy to be home. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes,” he tweeted. He also wished the people on the occasion of Holi.
Parrikar who is suffering from pancreatitis, was admitted in GMC after he complained of uneasiness. GMC later informed that he was suffering from dehydration and low blood pressure.
“Though, Chief Minister had recovered by Tuesday, doctors kept him under observation. He is fully recovered now and fine,” the CMO confirmed about the discharge.
Sources said that even while he was admitted in GMC, the Chief Minister cleared several pending files and entered remarks in a few cases. “Chief Minister was clearing files on daily basis,” sources said.
It is likely that the Chief Minister may start functioning from his official residence from Monday, next week, onwards.
Parrikar was admitted to Lilavati Hospital on February 15 but was discharged on February 22, the day when he presented Budget in the State Legislative Assembly.
