Pensioners want arrears released
MARGAO (HR), JULY 22
The All Goa Pensioners’ Association has urged Chief Minister Digambar Kamat to release the arrears of 40 per cent Fitment Weightage benefit to government servants pensioners who retired between January 1, 1996 to December 31, 2000.
A five member delegation led by Association President V V Vernekar and general secretary Walter Colaco,called on the Chief Minister and presented their list of grievances.
The Association submitted a memorandum demanding enhancing the amount of family medical allowance from Rs 100 to Rs 300 with effect from September 1, 2008 sanctioned by the Ministry of Personnel Public Grievances and Pensions dated May 26, 2010.
Association President V V Vernekar said the Chief Minister was kind enough to favourably consider their request.
