PANJIM: Pentair Filtration and Process today announced the expansion of its Goa-based facility that will increase the production space for the plant by almost 30%, officials said.
The plant located at Verna Industrial Estate manufactures Polyglass and commercial composite tanks as well as other products used for water filtration and treatment. The facility was inaugurated jointly by Netha Johnson, Pentair president of Filtration and Process, Mukund Vasudevan, Pentair’s country head India and Hari Prasad, Pentair VP Filtration and Process.
“The new facility adds 30% more production space enabling it to add new product lines as well as expand capacity for existing product lines,” Johnson said. “This plant will serve India as well as other regions of the world, including Middle East, South East Asia and the Americas,” he said.
Vasudevan said the plant expansion is in line with the company’s stated strategy to expand local manufacturing to serve the Indian market.
“The country needs more pure water to keep pace with the growing population, urbanisation, and industrialisation,” he said.
The facility will have industry’s leading quality and product certificates including ISO 9001, NSF 44 and 61, DWI, WQA, ASMEX and PED.
The officials said the Goa facility manufactures a diverse set of products, including the Codeline housing used for desalination plants globally, Polyglass and FRP tanks.
