Pernem: The Pernem police nabbed three persons involved in house breaking and theft cases in the taluka. PI Pernem Dattaram Raut informed that from last two months, there were continuous house breaking cases being reported at the police station from Ashwem, Morjim, Mandrem and Arambol wherein the unknown accused would target foreign and Indian tourists and steal professional cameras, mobile phones, Bluetooth speakers, Apple Ipods, cash and other valuables from them.
The police kept a watch and tried to track them but the thieves continued to be elusive.

The cops then received technical inputs and information from reliable sources that the accused were operating a racket in Calangute area and accordingly different teams were formed and the trio were finally arrested at Candolim.
Sherief M and Sreethu S were natives of Kannur Kerala while Shaji Madavan P was from Karnataka.
Investigations have revealed that the accused used to commit thefts during the nights and then to flee to their native states.
Smart phones of different brands, professionals Cameras, Apple Airpods and wireless Bluetooth ear phones, Bluetooth Speakers, wrist watches, a Ritz Car and other articles all worth Rs 13,00,000 has been recovered from them.
The investigation team consisted of Pernem PI Dattaram Raut, PSIs Harish Vaigankar and Vivek Halarnkar, constables Prajyot Mayekar, Premnath Sawaldessai, Rajesh Gawde, Janardhan Gaonkar, Shabaji Rawool and Vincy Dias.
