Pernem Excise Inspector Surekha Gohar said their team intercepted a truck from Gujarat that was trying to cross the Patradevi check post at around 5.30 pm.
The officials found liquor boxes, which were kept hidden behind the sacks of coconuts.
The boxes containing cases of beer, rum and whisky all worth Rs 17 lakh were seized. The truck was attached and the truck driver Virendra Kumar was taken into custody.
