Pernem: With the Mopa airport in their back yard and other hotels and construction s project looming large, Pednekars are wondering of development and destruction are two sides of the same coin.
Some voices that have emerged are vociferous. “No Goan people will get jobs at the Mopa Airport and our beloved ministers will comment that Our Goan people are not much qualified. Illegal activities are rising day by day. Drugs business is flourishing at beach line. Field are being filled and converted illegally and our government departments are not doing anything about it”, said a local Gaonkar
Another Local K. Kanolkar said “ There is no water supply, bad roads, no medical facility in hospital and increasing drugs cases are the main issues of Pernem. There is no sign of a water treatment plant which was proposed. Drugs and murder cases are increasing
