Pernem police arrest temple thief

PERNEM: Pernem Police have solved a temple theft within a week by arresting a native of Maharashtra. 

Accused identified as Mithun Vishnu Pawar (25), at present residing at Bhatpavni, Naibag-Pernem and native of Ganpati Sana, Kankavli-Maharashtra.

According to Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, the Committee of Ravalnath Panchayatan Temple, Virnoda, here, had filed a complaint that on June 13, an unknown person had committed theft in the temple. 

During the investigation, it was learnt that the accused person entered the temple and stole Rs 3,000 from donation box, which was seen on the CCTV footage. 

Police along with the help of villagers managed to trace the accused  near Naibag-Pernem. He confessed the theft after police interrogated him. Pernem Police have successfully recovered the stolen property.
