Telephone users have demanded that BSNL also use Konkani language while making announcements to the subscribers.
Goa Hitrakhan Manch leader Prashant Naik questioned BNSL general manager Ravi why the telephone service provider is not using Konkan for making announcements.
At the Open House Session held at the Margao Municipal hall, Naik reminded BSNL officials that Konkani is official language of Goa and demanded that the mother tongue of Goans be used for making announcements.
“In Maharashtra, Marathi is used to inform subscribers of any announcement. The same is the case in Karnataka”, he said.
The BSNL General manager assured that the service provider will look into the feasibility of using Konkani language for making announcements.
