PANJIM: Congress party Wednesday filed a police complaint against NRI Commissioner Dr Wilfred Mesquita and Goa Cricket Association Chairman Vinod Fadke at Porvorim police station in the ticket scam based on Pendse report.
Justice (Rtd) M L Pendse commission had alleged criminal conspiracy by GCA managing committee members by printing bogus tickets for the India-Australia ODI cricket match held at Fatorda stadium in 2001.
The commission, whose recommendations have been accepted by the ruling coalition, had indicted several GCA members including the then GCA Chief and Congress leader Dayanand Narvekar, Fadke and others.
After a two year inquiry, commission submitted its report in 2003 which was rejected by the Congress during its regime but was accepted by BJP.
It was one again accepted by the BJP coalition after coming to power in 2012. The Porvorim police is inquiring into the complaint while an FIR is yet to be registered.
