PONDA: While the people across State are fed up with the condition of potholed-ridden roads, the locals residing near Goa Dairy and Animal Husbandry, Curti on Thursday had a sigh of relief as the potholed-ridden roads in their vicinity were tarred with a hot-mix carpet, giving a new look, thanks to the planned visit of a VIP from New Delhi.
The planned visit of Union Home Minister Amit Shah has brought relief to Curti locals, who were suffering due to bad roads, as it has completely changed the face of the three kms roads at Curti.

Even the Ponda town locals are taken by surprise with hot-mix carpeting work commencing from Curti Panchayat area because the roads condition is worst in Ponda town as many of them are dug for sewerage work. The motorists are experiencing a bumpy ride and there have been constant demands from the locals to hot-mix the roads.
Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant and PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar had recently promised to repair all the roads before November 1, stating not a single pothole will be spotted on the Goans roads.
On the CM’s statement, Curti locals are not only happy to see that their roads are repaired but also hot-mixed.
It is learnt that Shah is likely to visit the Animal Husbandry or Goa Dairy located in Curti Panchayat jurisdiction when he will pay a visit at Dharbandora to lay the foundation stone for forensic science college in the next week. Hence, the PWD has launched the repair works on war footing. Around 50 workers were seen busy engaged in the work.
