BORIM: Elected councillors of Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) and those who contested the municipal elections have been asked to furnish details of expenditure incurred at the time of election by June 13.
When contacted, PMC Chairperson Dr Radhika Nayak confirmed that they had received a letter from the State Election Commission asking them to furnish details of poll-related expenses.
“Till today, no one among us (councilors) has submitted the details of expenditure” said Dr Nayak.
As many as 60 candidates had contested for the 14 seats of the PMC and candidates were given a limit of Rs 75,000 to spend on elections. They were asked to submit details within a month from the results of the elections. Counting of votes had taken place on May 13.
