MARGAO: South Goa Superintendent of Police Shekar Prabhudesai has placed under suspension police constable Paresh Kerkar alias Scot Mendonsa of Deusa, Chinchinim, against whom Margao police has registered offence of cheating.
Fearing arrest, constable Kerkar has moved for anticipatory bail before South Goa District and Sessions Court, Margao, on Wednesday.
The Margao police on a complaint from Silvestre Niaso of Davorlim on February 16 registered offence under sections 465, 468, 471, 419, 420 read with 34 IPC against Kerkar who along with main accused Manoj Manikrao Oklekar of Sanguem was involved in disposing the property of the complainant by forging irrevocable power of attorney in the name of the complaint’s relative.
