PANJIM: Porvorim Police are probing into a huge loan that was availed of by IRB Head Constable Kishor Shirodkar, who was found dead in suspicious circumstances, at Porvorim over a week ago. Police sources told Herald that Shirodkar was allegedly in debt amounting to Rs 27 lakh, as per details provided by the banks concerned to the police.
“He had taken a personal loan of Rs 27 lakh. We are probing the purpose of the huge loan. The family will be contacted to help the investigation,” the source said.
Meanwhile, the two suspects Rupesh and Prasad, who are related to the deceased, were interrogated on Wednesday as well.
Porvorim Police have registered a case of murder into the Head Constable’s death following a complaint by his wife suspecting foul play. The complainant and the deceased’s mother had suspected involvement of two persons.
