Police seize truck, sand at Volvoi

PONDA: In a surprise raid, the Mines Department officials along with the police on Monday seized around 158 cubic metres of sand extracted illegally from Volvoi River. 
The truck, which was used in the transportation of the sand, extracted illegally, was attached.
It is learnt that the police and mamlatdar officials had arrived at Volvoi to demolish an illegal structure. However, during their visit to the Volvoi River, they saw the illegal activity being carried out and immediately complained to the Mines Department and a panchanama was conducted.
Earlier, a similar raid was conducted near the Amona Bridge.
