MAPUSA: Mapusa Police on Tuesday booked a 26-year-old Amit Shet, a resident of Pomburpa, for allegedly entering the house and raping a minor girl in the absence of her parents.
According to Mapusa police, the mother of the 17-year-old victim lodged a complaint against the accused Amit for allegedly raping her daughter. The police informed that the incident took place on Tuesday evening wherein the alleged accused entered the victim’s house in the absence of her parents and allegedly raped her. The incident came to light after the victim narrated the entire nightmare to her parents when they returned back from work.
Following the complaint lodged by the mother of the victim, the Mapusa police registered an offence under Section 341 (wrongful restraint), 452 (House-trespass after preparation for hurt), 354 (assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 354 A (sexual harassment),354 B (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to disrobe), 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and Section 8 of Goa Children’s Act and Section 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO). The accused is absconding.
The case is further investigated by PSI Dhiraj Devidas under the supervision of Mapusa PI Kapil Nayak.
