PONDA: Jaikishan Sharma (40), a manager with a transport company in Ponda, has been reported missing since the last four days.

A complaint has been lodged by his wife with Ponda Police on April 5.

According to information, Sharma, a native of Haryana, had left his residence from Ponda on his two-wheeler on April 4, but did not return. With no sign of Sharma, about 20 transporters from Ponda visited the Ponda Police station on Monday to inquire whether there were any leads.

Sources informed that Sharma’s close friends and business associates even undertook a search operation throughout the State, but to no avail.

“Sharma had left his residence on April 4 informing that he is going to Kundaim and did not return. Next day, we checked Kundaim area and even inquired with the company where he had reportedly visited, but the security officials replied in negative. It is not clear where he could be and even his phone is switched off,” said S M Purohit, Sharma’s friend.

Purohit, who is also in the transport business, claimed: “Sharma was disturbed due to some office-related matter and this we came to know from his wife. However, we could not get more details in the matter.”

“With help from transporters, we inquired at various places in the State but there is no sign of Sharma. Police told us that they are investigating and will inform us as soon as they get any clue,” added Purohit.

Ponda Police said investigations are on and are waiting for the call details of Sharma’s mobile number. Police have appealed to call 0832-2313101 (Ponda police station) if anyone has seen Sharma or could provide any information.
