PONDA: The proposed Rs 150 crore Ponda city master plan project will go through public scrutiny before being finalised.
The draft plan of the project is ready and on December 7 and 8, it will be placed before the public and various government departments for suggestions and complaints.
“This is very important project for the city of Ponda and will be finalised only after taking suggestions from public and government departments. We intend to start the work (in phases) on the project by December 18,” said Ponda MLA Lavoo Mamledar during a news briefing in the city on Thursday evening.
The State government had appointed consultants, S N Bhobe and Associates and K D Sadhale for the project.
“There were a total of 22 meetings held before preparing the draft master plan. Meetings were held with various government departments and people from all walks of life,” informed architect K D Sadhale.
“We have meticulously prepared the plan and there will be minimum demolition of structures. The city master plan will change the face of the Ponda city,” added Sadhale.
Mamledar said, “The project will have two flyovers, terrace parking facility and so on. The project is public-oriented and I appeal to the public to go through the plan.
