Porvorim Police have begun using newly allotted motorcycles and scooters for patrolling across their jurisdiction, aiming to enhance mobility and improve law enforcement presence in the area.
The two-wheelers were handed over to the Goa Police by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on June 18, 2026, as part of efforts to strengthen policing infrastructure and operational efficiency.

Following the handover, personnel from Porvorim Police Station were seen conducting patrols in various parts of the jurisdiction under the supervision of the Police Inspector of Porvorim Police Station.
Police officials said the addition of the new motorcycles and scooters will enable officers to respond more quickly to incidents, navigate traffic-congested areas with ease, and carry out regular patrols more effectively.
The initiative is expected to boost police visibility in residential and commercial areas while enhancing the department’s ability to maintain law and order and respond promptly to public concerns.
Officials expressed confidence that the newly deployed two-wheelers will contribute significantly to strengthening routine patrolling and improving overall policing services in the Porvorim region.
