SANGUEM: Priti Prasad Naik was unanimously elected as the new Chairperson of the Sanguem Municipal Council. The post had fallen vacant following the resignation of the previous Chairperson Sweta Naik Tari.

The new Chairperson stands elected as per the mutually agreed rotation system. The Returning Officer Nilesh Daigodkar said that he had received only one nomination form from Priti Prasad Naik, who declared her elected unopposed.
Councillors Sweta Naik Tari, Meshu D’Costa, Santiksha Gadkar, Archana Gaonkar, Romualdo Judas Agnelo Fernandes, Ikbal Sayyed, Sangameshwar Naik, Fouziya Shaikh and Queiroz Cruz were present for the meeting.
Chairperson Sweta Naik Tari spoke on the development aspects and the projects done during her tenure and thanked all the councillors for the support and co-operation rendered to her during her tenure.
