BICHOLIM: The Fabricators Association from Bicholim stating that COVID-19 pandemic has even affected them on Saturday urged the customers to provide fabrication work to the Goans rather than the migrants.
While addressing a press conference in the town, the association members stated that they are very much affected by the global slowdown of the economy and urged all the Goan people to provide work to them rather than giving it to the migrants.

“The first blow was that of GST implementation followed by demonetisation and now it is COVID-19 pandemic. This has all affected small businessmen like us. We do not have any work but instead the migrants are still having work,” Pankaj Amroskar said.
He said that the migrants are working illegally and without following proper guidelines. The association members came down heavily on the migrants who are trying to sneak into almost all the businesses.
Amroskar informed that the only motive of forming the association was to come together and stay united in this testing time.
“We urge all the fabricators from across the State to contact us so that we can form a larger association and can reach all the customers,” Yadunath Shirodkar said.
“We will submit a letter to all the concerned government departments to crack whip on all the illegal people who are taking up fabrication work,” Kiran Kawthankar and Sachin Mayekar said.
