PONDA: A second public hearing was held at Mollem regarding four-laning of National Highway (NH) from Mollem to Belagavi, in which the locals approved widening after NH officials assured to sort out their issues.
The hearing was conducted in the presence of National Highway Authority Special Land Acquisition Officer Chandrakant Shetkar, Assistant Engineer Chanda Parwar and Technical Engineer Anand Waghurmaker.
Total 38 people living beside the highway in Mole had earlier objected widening due to various reasons. Accordingly, the officers attended and inspected the houses and shops on the side of the road and conducted a hearing.
Everyone agreed for road widening on the condition that their issues are sorted out by officials. The shopkeepers who had doubts, were given detailed information on this occasion and their doubts were cleared by officials, following which locals assured to co-operate in NH widening.
