Public service camp brings governance to citizens’doorstep in Salcete

In a commendable effort to bring government services closer to the people, the Office of the Deputy Collector & SDM-II, Salcete, Margao, organised a Saturday Public Service Camp in Salcete taluka.

The camp brought together multiple departments under one roof, enabling citizens to access a range of essential services through a single-window system. Services included issuance of residence and caste certificates, mutation and partition cases, tenancy matters, divergence certificates, conversion sanads, mundkarial purchase sanads, RUCA, and grievance redressal.

According to Deputy Collector Laxmikant R. Desai, several applications were efficiently cleared during the camp. These included:

  • 2 RUCA applications
  • 2 conversion sanads
  • 1 certified copy of a mundkarial purchase sanad
  • 2 applications for sanad certificates (pre-1972)
  • 1 certified copy of land acquisition-related documents

Public response was enthusiastic, with many grievances resolved on the spot and delays in certificate and mutation-related work reduced significantly.

Adding to the initiative, the Joint Mamlatdar conducted a public awareness programme on the Twenty Point Programme, helping disseminate key information to attendees.
