The temporary measures like asphalting and cleaning of drains are being carried out as assured by Calangute MLA Michael Lobo following a Herald initiative to help in resolving the water logging issue at Umtta Vaddo.
The labourers removed the mud and cleared the water way as rains subsided. The residents of the area welcomed the temporary measures as outlined by Lobo.
Following a Herald report highlighting the water logging woes of locals, Lobo had assured to take up the works immediately to provide temporary relief once the rains subsided. The work comes as a relief to church goers to attend mass in St John the Baptist Chapel, whose feast is on Wednesday.
