PANJIM: Taking the battle against Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Churchill Alemao a step further, Vice President of National Student Union of India (NSUI) Goa Unit Sunil Kawthankar has accused the Congress legislator for cheating the State exchequer of a whooping Rs 300 crores.
In his complaint before the Panjim police station, the complainant alleged that Alemao illegally awarded 258 tenders in works division of XXV (Roads) alone.
The complaint has also accused PWD Executive Engineer P T Parker for violating the crucial guidelines and Chief Vigilance Officer and Chief Secretary Sanjay Srivastava of shielding them.
“Alemao and Parker hatched a criminal conspiracy to siphon out and misappropriate the funds of PWD, thus cheating the State exchequer to the tune of crores of rupees,” the complainant, who is at loggerheads with the minister in the water tanks distribution scam, said.
Copies of the complaint submitted to the Crime Branch and North Goa Superintendent of Police has sought action in three days, failing which Kawthakar has warned he will move the Court.
