The Village Panchayat of Queleossim has unanimously opposed the proposed floating recreational platform, park, and resort project by a private firm, resolving to challenge the provisional No Objection Certificate (NOC) issued by the Block Development Officer, Mormugao.
The decision was taken during a special Gram Sabha attended by Cortalim MLA Anton Vas, panch members, residents, and Parish Priest Fr. Miguel Pereira. Vas alleged that certain individuals had misled the panchayat and declared that the project would not be permitted under any circumstances.

The panchayat also decided to approach the High Court if required. Village leaders have urged residents to attend the July 15 hearing in large numbers, describing it as a crucial step in protecting Queleossim’s interests.
