MARGAO: The issue of irregular water supply dominated the Rachol Gramsabha. The Sarpanch informed the villagers that the water is supplied to the village from the Sonsodo water tank through Raia village.
“If the pipe breaks in Raia, we don’t get water”, he said. Rachol village has a sump which is used to pump water to an overhead tank in order to increase water pressure. However, the volume of the sump is not enough to supply water to the village in case the supply from Raia village gets disrupted.
The Gramsabha resolved to ask the PWD to lay a separate pipeline from the main water tank at Sonsodo to Rachol which can be used to supply water to the village in case of an emergency.
