In a gazette notification, the South West Railway says it does not require this land of the farmers for executing the special railway project of doubling the lines between Hospet-Tinaighat and Vasco-da-Gama.

Instead, it has listed a proposal to acquire other pieces of land for the project, inviting objections within 30 days. These lands are located in Curchorem, Cacora, Davorlim, Velsao, Causaulim and Arrosim.
