PANJIM: Hours after the Meteorological Centre on Saturday forecast dry weather over Goa in the next four days, thunder and lightning accompanied heavy rain showers in various parts of Goa that temporarily cut off the power supply to Panjim and other areas.
Earlier, the met centre recorded a maximum temperature of 34.3 degrees Celsius. “There was no large change in maximum temperatures. They were above normal over South Goa district and were normal over North Goa district. The highest maximum temperature of 35 degrees C was recorded at Mormugao. No warning has been issued for fishermen on the Maharashtra-Goa coast in the next 24 hours,” said IMD.
Local forecast for Panjim city in the next 24 hours shall remain partly cloudy with possibility of thunder towards the evening/night. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 34 degrees C and 27 degrees C respectively while in the next 48 hours the maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to hover around 34 degrees C and 28 degrees Celsius.
