Rain,thunderstorms likely in Goa today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a spell of unsettled weather across Goa over the next few days, with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds expected in parts of the State. According to the latest district-wise advisory issued by the Meteorological Centre, Goa, light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is likely at isolated places in both North and South Goa on May 7. Gusty winds reaching speeds of 30–40 kmph are also expected, particularly during the late afternoon and evening hours. The IMD has also indicated that hot and humid conditions will persist across the state from May 6 to May 8, with discomfort likely to peak during late mornings and afternoons in isolated pockets. Residents have been advised to take precautions to avoid heat-related stress during these hours. On May 6 and May 8, brief spells of light rain or thundershowers may occur in the evening, adding to the overall variability in weather conditions. From May 9 onwards, the weather is expected to stabilise, with predominantly dry and sunny conditions likely to prevail across Goa. The IMD has urged residents to remain alert to sudden weather changes, especially during thunderstorm activity, and to follow official safety advisories.
