Rajasthan duo held for theft at Mandrem Beach

PERNEM: The Pernem Police arrested two Rajasthan natives one 23-year-old Chandan Bhanwarlal Sahu and the other 22-year-old Vishal Bhavanishankar Sahu for allegedly robbing a tourist at Mandrem Beach.

According to Police Inspector Jivba Dalvi, the PCR received call from 26-year-old Mumbai native one Karan Vahi informing them that on February 5, he along with his friends had gone for a swim, leaving their belongings on the shore.  On their return the valuables namely iphone11, iphone10s,  airpods, Bose speakers,  goggles and wallet containing credit cards and Rs10,000 in cash were stolen.

The Pernem Police formed teams and launched a massive search to nab the culprits. During the investigation the police checked numerous entry points and examined the CCTV footages in the shacks, hotels, resorts etc. The police zeroed on two persons moving suspiciously on a scooter and arrested them under Section 379 r/w 34 of the IPC. 

Police sources informed that the duo had arrived in Goa on February 27 and had rented a bike to commit crimes. Police have recovered the stolen property and have also attached the vehicle which was used to commit the thefts. Both the accused were produced before the local court and were remanded to three days police custody.
