Rati Kankonkar, wife of Rama Kankonkar, has lodged a formal complaint against the Panjim Police Inspector after her husband’s statement, recorded by the police, was allegedly leaked to the media.
In her complaint, Rati stated that she has submitted inward copies to the Director General of Police (DGP) and the Superintendent of Police (SP), urging the SP to initiate an inquiry into how such sensitive information was made public.

Calling the leak a deliberate attempt to weaken the case and shield the mastermind and goons involved, she demanded that the investigation be handed over to the Crime Branch or a retired High Court judge.
Rati emphasized that the confidentiality of her husband’s statement should have been maintained, and that such lapses undermine the integrity of the investigation.
