VASCO: Velsao residents finally heaved a sigh of relief as the engineers of PWD (water supply section) finally located the fault in the pipeline which was causing water problems for almost a month.
Following a complaint of irregular water by the Velsao residents, the PWD teams visited the affected areas on October 13 and had embarked on a physical fault-finding exercise.
After week-long exercise of checking all the valves, tapping points and plugging all the leakages, the PWD engineers on Thursday located the fault as the pipeline was found leaking causing major water shortage at Dando, Velsao, bringing much needed relief to the Velsao residents.
The local MLA Anton Vas and residents thanked the PWD executive engineer VishwambarBhende, assistant engineer NareshPainginkar and their teams for their collective efforts and for locating the fault. The pipeline will now be repaired and water supply will be restored to the affected areas, it was informed.
For the last few days, the residents were supplied water through tankers.
